KETELBERG
THE SELECTION

About the Work

She was raised to be selected. Here, she decides who is worthy.

A veiled woman faces the viewer while a man kneels at the end of a thin chain. The hierarchy that reduced her to an obedient body is turned against its authors: she evaluates, she chooses, she commands. He no longer owns the gaze; he has become the object awaiting her verdict.
